Today I’m joined by Dr. Vanessa Freeman, the founder of Searching for Self Therapy and Consulting. Dr. V believes that therapy has the power to help individuals unlock, access, and reconnect to their authentic selves and she has a passion for supporting the Black community and communities of color. In her consulting work, Dr. V is committed to finding ways to create more inclusive environments for all marginalized groups. Today we talk about her experience working in higher education, institutional racism, and what drove her to ultimately leave her position and open her private practice. We talk about what it’s like to work with her as a therapist and what her personal experience of working with HER therapist is like and so much more.
“It’s ok to deviate, it’s ok to pivot, it doesn’t mean failure.” - Dr. Vanessa Freeman
